Sarah T. Bolton Park was named for Indiana's favorite indigenous poet, and the park itself is a reflection of her written observations on nature and beauty. The family-centric 32 acre natural space is also a certified wildlife habitat, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy watching wildlife. Sarah T. Bolton Park is renowned for its gorgeous hilly terrain and meandering creek which weaves its way throughout the property.Â
Home to a completely fenced dog run, Paw Patch Dog Park is a space designated for dogs wanting to burn off some steam without the burden of a leash. Not known is whether or not this grassy play area offers a section solely for use by smaller and/or senior dogs. As with most off leash play centres, Paw Patch Dog Park requires owners to have a leash with them when their dogs are exploring off leash areas of the park. Additionally, when not playing in the enclosures, all dogs should remain leashed.Â
Paw Patch Dog Park is a private facility, and membership is required. Memberships are only available on a yearly basis and cost $35 with an additional $10 to procure a key which permits entrance through the electronically-controlled main gate. At the time of registration, all owners are also provided with a Paw Patch Dog Park dog tag which identifies the dog as a park member.Â
Bathrooms are situated on the grounds and are open for visitors to use. This park space also offers water to ensure Fido has plenty of opportunity to stay hydrated. Also provided on the property are poop bags. In accordance with the by-laws governing Indiana, it is the responsibility of all dog owners to clean up after their dogs. With the comfort of all visitors in mind, benches are installed throughout the grounds in areas which provide shade.Â
At the time of registration, owners must submit proof of an up to date rabies vaccination from a licensed veterinary professional. It is also recommended that dogs be current on all other core vaccinations. City licensing is not required but is advisable. For a day that Fido and the whole family can enjoy together, why not head out to visit Paw Patch Dog Park?
