Pokagon State Park

The Pokagon State Park in Indiana was named after a Potawatomi Indian Chief Leopold Pokagon. This state park is 1,2600 acres of pure natural fun and it has so many nice amenities including camping, an inn, boat rentals, an amphitheater, a playground and so much more. Among the activities to do at the Pokagon State Park are swimming, row-boating, canoeing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. 

In the winter, people enjoy tobogganing and skiing. This state park is the perfect place to roam and take in nature with your dog. Your pet will love taking an adventure to Pokagon State Park with you. This pet-friendly park has a few lakes, trails, and picnic shelters to explore. Dogs should be with their owners at all times. The Pokagon State Park is not an off-leash kind of park, so be sure that your dog is properly leashed when you are out and about exploring at the park. 

Dogs are welcome to hike on trails with you and even camp with you at one of the many campsites. Be sure to clean any messes you or your dog make while you are on this adventure. A clean park is a happy park, after all. Dogs are allowed in both the RV and tent areas of the Pokagon State Park's campgrounds. There is even a dog walking location within the campgrounds. 

Indiana is known for its sandy dunes, lakes, and fabulous state parks. The Pokagon State Park is just another one of those memorable places to visit. The trails and picnic areas will give you and your pup so many great memories for years to come. If you're not local to the area, you may even enjoy staying a night or two camping under the stars with your dog.
