Your canine is allowed through the majority of this park, but due to the shared paths and traffic, they are required to stay on a leash anytime they are outside the fenced dog park. This Prairie View County Dog Park is open to the public but does require a daily parking pass or an annual permit which can be acquired through their website.
The annual pass is a very modest price, and that fee is used to maintain and renovate the grounds here. The cost is $25 per dog for the annual pass. There is a lot of space at this park which means there is not too much traffic on any particular piece of land. This means the grass stays in good shape and remains green through the spring and summer months.
This Prarie View County Park is ideal for long-range games like fetch as the amount of room to run is hard to beat. Restrooms and water are available at this park, but there is no water inside the fenced dog park so bring a bowl to transport some water in order to keep your dog hydrated while they play.
Dog poop bags are available at the entrance to the dog park, and garbage cans can be found along the fence line and at the gate. These garbage cans are emptied regularly, and the grounds here stay very well maintained. No children are allowed inside this dog park. There is also a beautiful wooded trail at this dog park, but even though it has close proximity to the nearby lake, there is no waterfront access.
