Rivers Edge Dog Park - NJ

The Rivers Edge Dog Park is located just North of Hamilton Park, along the Hudson River, in New Jersey. This park does have very close proximity to the waterfront of the Hudson River. However, there is no canines off-leash park with water access, and this dog park is no exception. 

Although you can see the river from this fenced park, there is no water access for your canine. The downtown location of this park means parking will be quite hard to find and not usually free. The park itself is not for members-only, and there is no fee associated with this park. 

The state of New Jersey does require any canines at the dog parks located within their borders to have proper identification, up-to-date vaccination records and be registered with the state. Poop bags are available just inside this fenced dog park, and garbage cans are placed throughout the Rivers Edge Dog Park. The poop bags are regularly stocked, and the garbage cans are cleaned out often. The city makes a solid effort to keep this park in good condition. 

The Rivers Edge Dog Park makes for a good place for those traveling along the Hudson River, those going through Weehawken New Jersey will find it along Port Imperial Boulevard, a major thoroughfare for this town. That being said, the real draw for the Rivers Edge Dog Park is the views. Across the Hudson, you have a gorgeous view of the city. The park has beautiful metal benches and ornate metal fences. 

There is grass in the Rivers Edge Dog Park, and it stays clean and well maintained. The benches are placed underneath trees when possible which helps to provide some shelter from the sun on a hot day. All the seats face the river and the city beyond, making this one of the more beautiful dog parks you could consider traveling to.
