Shipyard Dog Park
However, all dogs are welcome to join the fun in the on-premise enclosure, regardless of size, age, or personality. Shipyard Dog Park encourages off-leash play and socialization; however, park officials require all owners to actively supervise their dogs and carry a lead with them at all times in case it is needed.
In accordance with New Jersey legislation, dogs are never permitted on grass areas or unpaved paths which includes the family-friendly Shipyard Park itself. Shipyard Dog Park is a private facility, and access to the grounds is only permitted to residents of the Shipyard community. The on-site run is relatively small in size but is kept immaculately clean and well-stocked with poop bags.
It is the responsibility of all owners to clean up after their pets. Visitors to this park space praise its glorious views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline. In addition to this, the park is well-renowned for its friendly and attentive dog owners who are welcoming to newcomers to the Shipyard region. This dog playground is lined with artificial grass which is kind to canine joints.
Benches are also situated throughout the dog run where owners can relax and enjoy the breathtaking views while their dogs frolic and play. Shipyard Dog Park currently offers no water access or on-site bathrooms. In addition to this, visitors to this lovely park do note that there is very little shade.
There are no officially posted regulations in place that dog owners must observe during a visit to Shipyard Dog Park. However, current vaccinations are always recommended.
