South Mountain Dog Park

Located near to South Mountain Reservation, the South Mountain Dog Park is nestled within the charming town of Maplewood, New Jersey. Housed on a portion of the nature reserve's 2,110 acres of property, South Mountain Dog Park is a wonderland for dogs and their owners to explore. Situated on the grounds are two fenced play spaces where dogs can run and play without the need for a leash. 

South Mountain Dog Park is pleased to offer an enclosure designed with small, senior, and shy dogs in mind. Here, the focus is a gentler play style to help prevent injury from the more raucous activity. Also housed on the grounds is a timeout area for dogs who become overstimulated during play and would benefit from a period of rest. Though off-leash play time is the focus of this dog playground, owners are still required to have access to a leash at all times. 

Access to the South Mountain Dog Park is provided to the public free of charge. Visitors to this doggy play haven praise its well-kept grounds, cleanliness, and spacious dog runs. The dog play spaces are extremely well-equipped. Dogs may enjoy playing with the on-site agility equipment and also have plentiful access to water to quench their thirst. 

Benches are also provided under the cover of shade trees to encourage owners to rest and enjoy watching their dogs at play with their favorite canine pals. Poop bags are also provided on the premises, and many visitors make note that they are of excellent quality. South Mountain Reservation, a nature preserve, has much to offer visiting families as well. 

From an on-site wildlife refuge to the Wildflower Sculpture Park, the South Mountain Recreation Complex, and so much more, there is something to appeal to every member of the family. Also situated throughout the property for the enjoyment of Fido and his family are hiking trails and carriage roads suitable for running, horseback riding, and cross county skiing. Dogs must remain on-lead in all areas of South Mountain Reservation. 

All dogs visiting South Mountain Dog Park are required to be fully vaccinated. In addition to this, they must also be licensed with their respective city.
