Description

Sterling State Park is located in Michigan and it's the only state park on Lake Erie. Placed near cities like Detroit, Cleveland, Toledo, Chicago or Windsor, it is one of the greatest attractions for people who want to escape the concrete jungles even for a day.

The park spreads on 1,300 acres and it's famous for offering numerous recreational activities. Swimming and relaxing on the lake's shore are on top of the list of every visitor who sets foot at Sterling State Park. You can go fishing in the lagoons or take your boat out for a ride on the lake.

There are 250 parking spaces, so you don't need to worry about your car during your stay here. Also, there are 256 lakefront camping sites which are ready to be your home away from home during your stay at Sterling State Park. Each campsite features modern amenities, restrooms, and a friendly picnic area.

If you'd rather stay on land than go fishing, then make sure you're wearing the right boots. There are six miles of hiking trails waiting for you to discover them. You can stop from time to time and observe the wildlife closely. During the winter, this hiking trail is perfect for skiing as well.

Taking your dog with you at Sterling State Park is a fun way of spending bonding time together in the wilderness. The park offers an excellent environment for your furry friend to explore and meet other dogs. To avoid unpleasant situations, Fido must wear a leash at all times and be under your immediate control during your stay here.

Always carry a waste bag with you, as cleaning after your pet is one of the ground rules at Sterling State Park. The last piece of advice is to try to keep Fido away from interacting with wildlife, whether it's a bird or a squirrel. Dogs have a gift of losing temper when you least expect it, so it's better to be cautious. Whenever you decide to do it, Sterling State Park has the gates wide open for you and your dog. Fun adventures and relaxing times are waiting!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
