Tawas Point State Park

Tawas Point State Park sits in the region of East Tawas and resembles much beauty. Many visitors refer to this state park as the "Cape Cod of the Midwest." This state park was established in 1961, and it covers over 180 acres of land. This park is now considered one of the best areas for sailing in this region of the United States.

You can partake in swimming, paddling, metal detecting, hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing, biking, and so much more. Pets are allowed at Tawas Point State Park, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay, and they must not leave their owner's side. 

During your stay at this park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Michigan Department of Natural Recreational Sources. Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter Tawas Point State Park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home. 

Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to this park as Tawas Point State Park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. Humans should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in this park. 

If you wish to camp, you must schedule a reservation. Reservations can be made online or in the park's main office.
