The Veteran's Memorial Dog Park is an off-leash play area for dogs. It is a well-maintained park that welcomes dogs of all sizes but also has two separate areas for small and large dogs. The fenced-in designated areas have double entry and exit gates for safety. Pet parents need to keep their dogs on a leash until fully entering the gates to prevent dogs from running off in other areas that don’t welcome un-leashed dogs.Â
There is agility equipment in both areas of the Veteran's Memorial Dog Park. It is an excellent place for training your dogs and allowing them to socialize with others. There is also plenty of space to play a game of fetch with your dog and welcome other dogs at the park to join in the fun.Â
Pet parents will be happy to learn this dog park provides benches to relax while you observe your dog. Owners are responsible for their dog's behavior towards others, and pet parents need to remain nearby to provide verbal commands. Dogs that exhibit aggressive behavior need to be leashed immediately and removed from the dog park by their owner.Â
The Veteran's Memorial Dog Park has a water fountain and community dog bowl available to keep dogs hydrated. However, you can also keep your dog hydrated by bringing fresh water and a small bowl along to the park. You need to carry water along during the winter months since the fountain is shut off.Â
Cleaning up after your pet is a mandatory park rule. The park provides doggie waste stations but you should also bring doggie poop bags along just in case the dispenser at the park is empty. Overall, this is a fantastic park to visit regularly with your dog. The fenced-in area provides a safe place for your dog to run off built up energy, socialize and play with other dogs.Â
