For use of the dog run, a Louisville Dog Run Association permit is required. The $35 annual permit is available at Feeders Pet Supply stores.
To get to the dog run, drive to the end of Waverly Park Road once you've entered the park. There you'll find free parking and restrooms. The off-leash area is past the lake and nestled in the woods, and is approximately an acre and a half, enough space for a game of fetch, and your canine to be able to run at full tilt. There are plenty of trees for your pal to scamper through. The area can get muddy after a heavy rainfall, so you may want to bring a towel for your car! The dog run is not divided, so there is only one area where dogs of all shapes and sizes can romp around together.
If your doggo wants to see what's on the other side of the fence, they're welcome to explore the rest of the park with you on leash. One of the main features of the park is the lake, which is not only easy on the eyes, but great for fishing. Some other park features include a woodsy hiking trail, mountain biking opportunities, picnic shelters with grills and playgrounds.
Puppers are always welcome here, and you're more than likely to encounter other furry friends. Please keep your pal leashed when not within the fenced off area, and picked up after at all times. Be sure to bring water and clean-up bags.
Waverly Dog Run is sure to put a wag in your dog's tail!
