Bring your dog and let them play at the off-leash dog park located in the Wood Dale County Park! The well-maintained park has tennis courts, playgrounds, and pavilions. With all the amenities this park offers and the fun to be had, your dog is sure to want to sniff near a picnic table, so make sure you keep your pup on-leash until he is in the doggie-designated area of the park.
The 118-acre park features a dog run for your four-legged friend to run off-leash, make friends, and sniff out the happening canine scene. If you feel like running around with your pup, visitors say there have been balls and frisbees left behind, in case you forgot yours. You can play fetch for hours in the fenced-in park.
If you get tired, the Wood Dale County Dog Park has benches for you to rest your feet. There are also plenty of trees for shade on those hot days, and there is drinking water in the park for your pup. However, bring your own dog poop bags to pick up after your pooch and dispose of them in the garbage cans nearby.
To visit the park you should make sure your pooch is up-to-date on his vaccinations and is not in heat. You should not bring an aggressive dog to any dog park. If you are unsure of how your dog will interact with other pups, you should take them at a time when the park is not so busy, which tends to be early morning or mid-afternoon.
Your dog should know to respond to your call and command. The Wood Dale County Dog Park is located to the east of the pond and is just north of the tennis courts. Parking is near the tennis courts along Prospect Avenue. Bathrooms are also very close to the dog park, just be sure not to leave your dog unattended.
