Now Fresh is a small but mighty brand offering 15 premium dry dog food varieties.

All Now Fresh dog food are “complete and balanced,” meeting the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) nutrient profile guidelines for all life stages, adult maintenance, or growth.

Grain-Free is Now Fresh’s flagship dog food line, with three flavors in different varieties specifically formulated for each stage of your pup’s life.

Now Fresh Grain-Free recipes are of a high standard, featuring a mix of real meat, peas, potatoes, whole dried eggs, and potato flour among the top five ingredients.

All recipes include added probiotics, supporting your four-legged friend’s immune and digestive health. Beneficial secondary ingredients further down each ingredient list include flaxseed, which is an omega fatty acid source, and sweet potatoes, which are high in fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins A and C.

Another big pro of Now Fresh Grain-Free dog foods is their protein and fat percentages — the Turkey, Salmon & Duck Grain-Free Adult recipe features above-average protein (31.1% as dry matter) and slightly above-average fat (20% as dry matter). They’re also relatively low in carbs compared to run-of-the-mill dry dog food.

Made with quality meat, nutritious minimally-processed produce, and added probiotics, Now Fresh Grain-Free dog food is an outstanding pick for pups that need a no-grain diet — highly recommended.

Good Gravy is the newest addition to the Now Fresh family. It’s a range of grain-inclusive dry food with a twist in its tail — serve Now Fresh Good Gravy as a kibble, or add water to create a bone broth gravy that’ll help keep your hound hydrated.

The top five ingredients are the same across the range — quality cuts of meat, followed by peas, oatmeal, rye, and potatoes. Oatmeal is one of the healthiest grains for dogs, as it’s rich in soluble fiber, antioxidants, iron, zinc, and a whole lot of other good stuff.

Way further down the ingredients list are a number of superfoods, like carrots, broccoli, blueberries, and even papaya, to provide your pup with natural sources of vitamins and minerals. Many of these fruits and veggies are also found in Now fresh Grain-Free recipes.

Like Now Fresh Grain-Free, the Good Gravy range includes added probiotics and natural fiber sources like pumpkin and sweet potato.

Good Gravy recipes are slightly lower in protein and fat — likely due to using grains over plant-based proteins. The Good Gravy Chicken Coated recipe contains above-average protein (28.8% as dry matter) and slightly above-average fat (17.7% as dry matter) compared to most kibbles.

Versatile and loaded with fresh ingredients, Now Fresh Good Gravy is an excellent dog food if you prefer to feed Fido a grain-inclusive diet.

Made without meat meals, animal by-products and with minimally processed produce, Now Fresh’s ingredient quality ranks among the best dog foods on the market.

All of Now Fresh’s recipes list deboned cuts of meat as the top ingredient, followed by healthy carbs, grains, and superfoods to provide your pup with optimum nutrition.

All of Now Fresh’s recipes have above-average protein and slightly above-average fat content to supply Scooby with all the energy they need to live a long and happy life. They also have relatively low carb contents compared to similar kibbles, which helps prevent obesity and reduce body inflammation.

Now Fresh adds probiotics to its recipes — something you’ll only find in good-quality dog foods. Probiotics provide your pooch’s gut with good bacteria, helping boost immunity, improve digestion, and boost vitamin and mineral absorption.

Now Fresh states its dry dog foods have a shelf life of 16 to 18 months, which makes storage super simple. This extended shelf life is especially great for its Good Gravy range, which you can turn into wet food by adding water to make a bone broth.

Despite producing recipes catering especially to seniors, puppies, small breeds, and large breeds, Now Fresh offers limited flavors. There are only five variations across the entire range, most of which contain either poultry or fish — not ideal if your dog has a fish or poultry allergy.

Now Fresh dog food is on the pricey side, which isn’t surprising given its quality. At the time of writing, a 22-lb bag of Now Fresh Turkey, Salmon, & Duck Grain-Free dog food costs $85.99 on Chewy, which works out to $3.91 per lb.

Family-owned Canadian pet food company Petcurean established Now Fresh in 2007. Best friends Ron Mayert and Dan Vanleeuwen founded Petcurean in 1999 in Fraser Valley, British Columbia, Canada. Petcurean manufactures several other pet food brands, including Go! Solutions, Gather, and Summit.
