Located in the Turney Road and Corkhill Road area, this park sprawls over 2,200 acres and features a large gorge, scenic vistas and waterfalls. Your buddy will love exploring the trails that wind through forests of mature trees. For a short walk, head out on the boardwalk next to Deerlick Creek and gaze at the stunning Bridal Veil Falls. This is a puptastic spot for a photo with your pal. If you want a longer hike, check out Sagamore Creek Loop. It runs 3.6 miles, so make sure you have enough water for your pup.

If you head seven miles east of Bedford, you’ll come to the neighboring town of Bentleyville, home to the South Chagrin Reservation.  This slice of nature is just waiting for you and your pup to come explore its rugged trails. Wander through the hemlock forests and check out the sandstone ledges, creeks and ravines. Take a hike on the Squaw Rock Loop. Your pup will love getting his exercise on this 2.5 mile trail. Bridle Trail Loop and Sulphur Springs Loop are a couple other pawsome trails in the park. Since this is a pup-ular place, be sure to keep your pal on leash.

Darian Lane

When dogs in Bedford need some off leash time, they head 10 miles south to the Twinsburg Dog Park. Located in the Darian Lane neighborhood of Twinsburg, this fenced in area is dedicated to canine enjoyment. Your pal can romp and play while socializing with new friends. Water, shade and benches for the humans are available. Keep in mind there is not a separate small dog area available, so dogs of all shapes and sizes run together. For a nice leashed walk, just pop over to Liberty Park and follow one of the trails. Your pooch will love hanging out in the forest and being near all the wild creatures.

Ravenna Rd/ Glenwood Dr

The Ravenna Road and Glenwood Drive area of Twinsburg is home to the pawsome Center Valley Park. Just 10 miles southeast of Bedford, this park is well worth a visit. Your furry friend will wag her tail with delight as you meander through the wooded terrain. A network of eight trails spreads throughout the park, and trails range in distance from under a half a mile to 2.41 miles. For an educational outing, follow the asphalt bike path to the butterfly garden and learn about the flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. No bones about it, your pup is sure to have a great time!

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of the area’s main attractions. It’s located just 10 miles south of Bedford in the Brecksville neighborhood of Echo Hills. Fur-tunately, four legged visitors can enjoy this stunning park. Features like the Cuyahoga River, wetlands, and deciduous forests make it a doggy paradise. Leash up your pup and follow the trails to discover all that this park has to offer. Trails range from half a mile to 19.5 miles, so there is something for all levels. Your buddy won’t be the only creature in the area; raccoons, salamanders, deer and coyotes all call this park home. Be sure to keep your pooch on leash so he doesn’t disturb the local wildlife.
