Bloomingdale
Bloomingdale is a rural community with single-family homes, a few small businesses, a post office, and a cemetery. If you enjoy four-wheeling, visit Renegade Ridge ATV Park off US-22. To spend time outside with your four-footed pal, head to Fernwood State Forest. You can spend the day hiking on the three-mile trail here. On this pathway, you'll wind through a section of the forest that includes scenic vistas. Another option you have is to bring your rod and reel and go fishing at one of the ponds in the facility. There are pet-friendly campsites available at Hidden Hollow Campground in this pawtastic wilderness.36

Smithfield
About 6.4 miles south of town, you'll find the village of Smithfield. This country community includes an apartment complex, a few churches, small businesses, and houses. Just north of the city limits, there's a vast recreational facility. Bring your fur-baby to Friendship Park to enjoy the outdoors together. This 1,320-acre facility includes an 89-acre lake, picnic areas, hiking trails, and campsites for tents and RVs. Spend the day investigating the property with Spot, then relax around the fire pit in the evening. Dogs can join you here if you restrain them with a lead. Hopedale
Hopedale is a small village that's about five miles west of Bloomingdale. There are single-family homes, an elementary school, some businesses, and a senior living facility here. By the American Legion in town, you can visit the ABATE Memorial for Fallen Bikers. You'll also find a community park where you and Fido can exercise outdoors together. Visit Hopedale Park on Village Street. This pawesome facility has a ball field, athletic courts, picnic areas, and open space. Relax at the tables with your special pal and watch the sunset. Jefferson Lake State Park in Greater Richmond is about 11.5 miles north of Bloomingdale. There are some country homes and farms around this 962-acre facility.
