Poplar Street

Poplar Street is where all the magic in Bolivar happens! Here, you can walk up and down the street taking in the beautiful architecture throughout the town. The Tuscarawas River lends serene sights as you drive down the I-77, which makes commuting to nearby towns a breeze! Plus, it’s a short stroll away from the Historic Canal Street district, which combines the Revolutionary War-era characteristic of the city with a modern style of the refurbished old buildings in the area. This tight-knit society welcomes pets throughout the village, and even in some storefronts! Just be sure to ask shopkeepers before you bring Fido during your shopping trips!

West Fulton

Just over 20 miles north of Bolivar, you’ll find the neighborhood of West Fulton. Located in the city of Canal Fulton, which shares the Tuscarawas River with Bolivar, West Fulton has a high livability rate with lots of local amenities and a low cost of living. Just south of the city center is the Canal Fulton Dog Park, which offers visitors an enclosed area – separated for small and large dogs – for your pups to enjoy. Just nearby you will also find the Olde Muskingum Trail, a short but sweet hiking trail that of-furs serene views spanning over 6 miles through Canal Fulton.

Charity Rotch

Looking for a pet-friendly neighborhood in a culture-rich city 13-miles north of Bolivar? Look no further than Charity Rotch in Massillon, OH. Here, you’ll discover a quiet, beautiful district with charming neighbors, high walkability, and a family-friendly feel. Head down Hankin Road, and you’ll find the Furnas Park Dog Park. This off-leash run is the pawfect place to take your fur-kids to run around and hang out with the locals! Plus, with over 500 acres of parks, trails, and open spaces throughout Massillon, you are sure to find plenty to do to keep you busy. Be sure to keep Fido on a leash when at the other parks in the area, or when visiting nearby hiking trails.

Market Heights

Market Heights is a quaint neighborhood nestled in Canton, OH. With a knack for packing big-city amenities into a comfortably sized Midwestern town, Canton is widely known as the birthplace of American pro football. Market Heights is just a 15-minute drive from the much smaller town of Bolivar and welcomes visitors and new residents alike. The neighborhood houses a local park, the Market Heights Park, which is perfect for short walks with your pup. For a special treat, you can take Fido to Veteran's Park Dog Park, a fenced-in dog run a few minutes away. While you’re there, check out the Middle Branch Trail that runs around the park.

Amish Country Byway

Another small town with plenty of Ohio charm is Millersburg, 30 miles west of Bolivar. Here, you’ll find pet-friendly neighborhoods, likely thanks to the local dog run! The Pampered Paws Dog Park, adjacent to the Deer Run Park, is an off-leash park where your pups can mingle with the neighborhood canines while getting some much-needed exercise. Millersburg also has a prevalent Amish community, which makes for a quiet and quaint area with plenty of small-town hospitality. Want to immerse yourself in nature and explore your surroundings? Wag over to the Holmes County Trail, which offers 22 miles of scenic pathways you can visit with your precious pup in tow.
