Oberlin
Tappan Square, the site of concerts, peaceful protests, and relaxation, welcomes you and your leashed pup for a walk in the park. The sniff-tastic shade trees and beautifully landscaped park is a delight for an afternoon outdoors as you watch for the albino squirrels. A peaceful leashed walk in the Oberlin Arboretum will lead you through the trails and bridges, across the creeks, and through the trees. In winter, you'll find some perfect sledding hills as well here. The Oberlin Recreation Complex is primary a sports facility, with adjacent green space on the 77-acre site. The Complex is a perfect space for a pawsome walk with your leashed pup.

Vermillion and Amherst
Vermillion, just 17 miles from Oberlin, invites you and your pup to enjoy the Mill Hollow Bacon Woods Park. This park has extensive trails through the woods, with some long trails for that dog-tastic hike you've been planning. The scenic park has some water that your pup can explore as you walk along the trails next to the Vermilion River. Camp at the Riverview RV Park and Marina to enjoy beautiful cliffside views and grassy campsites at this rustic and simple park. The peaceful atmosphere and open grassy area is great for a game of fetch or walks along the river to look for birds and turtles.

South Amherst
The South Amherst neighborhood in the town of Amherst is only 6.5 miles from Oberlin, and offers the Maude Neiding Memorial Park that welcomes you with its large open green space with plenty of shade trees. Your pooch will wag-it-like-he-means-it for a paw-some leashed walk through the park, or get in a round of Frisbee in the green space for more fun. There's some great play structures for the kids, but no restrooms in this park. The South Amherst Community Park is a beautiful and inviting park with great trails for a dog-tastic leashed stroll. Dog stations for water and waste disposal are available. Bring along a picnic and enjoy your day.12

Beavercreek Estates
In Lorain, only 12 miles from Oberlin, Kennedy Park has something for all members of the family. The kids will love the seasonal splashpad, playground, and Pickleball courts. Bring along a picnic and enjoy the barbecue grill and picnic tables after your exercise and Fido's leashed walk through the park. Full Service restrooms that are Handicap Accessible are available in this beautiful community park. The forested area of the park is a great place for a hike through the trees and underbrush, and for Fido to get a little off-leash running time.
South Elyria
Just nine miles from Oberlin in Elyria you’ll find South Park, the most beautiful park in Elyria. You pup will leap for joy as he plays in the lush green field and takes a sniff-tastic stroll across the bridge and down past the creek. A few jumps through the water makes for a great adventure on warm days. The park is near Ely square which is a good walking location for a leashed walk past the gazebo, around the beautiful Victorian fountain, and next to the veteran’s memorial. The historical homes and buildings around the park makes for a pleasurable leashed walk through the neighborhood.
