Lions Park
This New Hope neighborhood is mostly residential, and it has lots to offer its furry residents and visitors. One of the most popular places to go with dogs in this neighborhood is Lions Park. This park has an off-leash area all pups are sure to love. This fenced area features one big field where dogs can run, play, and make new friends. Bring water and doggy bags with you, and have a good time playing here. If you want to go on a longer walk with your dog, Lions Park also has paved pathways where you can take your pup for on-leash strolls. There’s also a picnic area where you can have a snack or lunch with your dog after your walk.

Northwood East
Northwood East is home to the largest park in New Hope, Northwood Park. This 65-acre park welcomes dogs on-leash, and it has beautiful trails you can explore with your dog. These trails will take you through a lovely forest and past peaceful Bassett Creek and Northwood Lake. Be sure to bring some water and doggy bags with you as you hike on the trail. After your walk, grill up lunch for you and your dog on one of Northwood Park’s charcoal grills. You can then enjoy your lunch at Northwood’s scenic picnic area. You and your dog will both have a great time at this park!

Valley Place
If you’re searching for another fun off-leash area for your dog, head to Valley Place and check out Lions Valley Place Dog Park. Located 2.5 miles from New Hope, this off-leash area features one big, fenced area where dogs can run and play to their heart’s content. Bring some water for your pup, and have a furrific time playing here! If you’re hungry after the park, head over to Milton’s. This restaurant welcomes dogs at their outdoor table, and they serve delicious soul food dishes, including jerk chicken, shrimp and grits, and rib platters. A leash is required. Bone Appetit!

Gateway District
Gateway District is an urban Minneapolis neighborhood with a beautiful park that welcomes dogs on-leash, Mill Ruins Park. Located 13.5 miles from New Hope, this park features a paved waterfront path that’s perfect for strolls with your pup. As you walk along the path, you’ll get see the historic ruins of an old mill. Bring some water and doggy bags, and have a fun time exploring this historic and scenic park. If you want to get a bite to eat after the park, check out Bar Zia. Sit at one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy classic bar fare like burgers, pizza, wings, and tacos.

Southwest Minneapolis
If you’re looking for a fragrant place to take your dog for a walk, head to Lake Harriet Rose Garden. This peaceful garden is 13 miles from New Hope, and it allows dogs on-leash. This garden is home to over 3,000 plants, and it has over 100 varieties of roses. You and your pup will both have a good time strolling through this garden and seeing all of these stunning flowers! After the garden, continue your fun day out with lunch at Gigi’s Café. This café allows dogs at their outdoor tables, and they serve a wide variety of omelets, sandwiches, burgers, and much more.
