West Hills

Grab Fido and head out to the Walt Whitman Trail. This 4.25-mile hike is the perfect activity to get you and your pup off the couch and outside in the great outdoors. The hike only has about a 401-foot elevation which makes it perfect for any hiker and dog. Make sure your dog stays on leash throughout the hike, especially since horses populate the area and they could scare your pup. Your pup will love the wooded hike that you take him on and all the great smells he can sniff. Don't forget to bring water and clean-up bags as there are none available on site.

Lloyd Harbor

Coindre Hall is a great place to take Fido to meet some new friends and play around outside. Coindre Hall is a mansion styled after a medieval French chateau. The land it sits on is 34-acres of rolling hills that your dog is allowed to run around, and can even go inside the mansion! The mansion is popular among other dog owners who want to bring Fido out to socialize, plus have an amazing view. Make sure Fido stays on leash while you visit. Your dog will love all the green space that he can run around on.

Huntington

If Fido is in need of a little retail therapy, take him over to Fetch. This cute luxurious lifestyle boutique offers product for all dog lovers. They offer anything from doggie sweaters and shirts, to collars and leashes, and even offer bath robes and treats. Your dog will feel like a VIP when you bring him in here to shop his little heart out. After your shopping spree, grab a bite to eat at Cafe Buenos Aires. They offer delicious Argentinean food and have an outdoor patio where Fido can dine with you. Make sure to try the tapas when you're there.

Huntington Station

If you and Fido are itching to go hiking, visit the Froehlich Farm Nature Preserve. This 310-acre preserve offers a great hiking trail that you and Fido can explore together. While hiking, you can see some wildlife that include a white-tailed deer and geese. Besides tons of wildlife, you will also pass a variety of gardens and fruit trees while you hike. Make sure to keep Fido on a leash while visiting. Afterwards, stop by Kerber's Farm and grab a sandwich for your trip home. They also offer pies, cookies, and fresh vegetables and fruits that you and Fido an enjoy together.

West Hills Road

Three miles out of Huntington in West Hills is the West Hills County Dog Park. This dog park offers separate area for large and small dogs with a ground covering  of wood chips, plus clean-up bags in case you forget yours. The park does charge a fee to be used on weekends and holidays, so be prepared. The park also offers benches for owners to sit on and watch their dogs have a good time. Fido will be tuckered out after having a great time at this puptastic dog park!
