West Bay Shore
Approximately 23 miles from Jericho is a great park that's well worth a visit: Gardiner County Park. This place has a reputation among dog owners as being an extremely dog-friendly park. Although the park has lots of mud and bugs, it's still doggie heaven! (Just be sure to bring bug spray with you.) Exploring the large network of trails here is a great way for you and your pooch to get some exercise. There is a water fountain available as well as waste stations for garbage. Be aware that your pooch has to be leashed when visiting this park. At the end of the trails, you'll find a nice little beach that Fido will pawsitively love!

North Melville
If you're looking for something closer to Jericho, you should check out the Walt Whitman Trail. The trail is an easy one, and it's 4.25 miles long. It would take you and your pup around two hours to complete it. The path is pretty flat, and lots of horses use this trail, so you should think twice about visiting if your dog dislikes other species. Pups have to be on-leash and are not allowed into the picnic areas. Make sure you bring enough fresh water for you and your pup, as well as waste baggies for cleaning up your fur baby's messes.

Belle Haven
A little bit further away from Jericho, around 40 miles away, is a nice dog park that some of you might prefer over the previously mentioned options called Grass Island Dog Park. The park is located in the Belle Haven neighborhood of Greenwich, CT, and it's an off-leash, fenced park where your dog can get his daily exercise. Like most dog parks, this one has two separate sections for large and small dogs. The park isn't huge or fancy, but it's the pawfect place for your fur baby to socialize with other pups! There is a nice little trail outside of the fenced area where you can peacefully walk with your pooch.

Stuyvesant Town
Twenty-seven miles from Jericho, you'll find the Stuyvesant Park Dog Run, located in Stuyvesant Town. This small dog run is clean and well-maintained, and it welcomes doggies of all sizes. If you want to take a more sedate stroll with your pup on-leash, hit the walking trail outside of the dog park. There is another park across the street where you can walk your leashed doggo. Stuyvesant Park is pretty spacious and provides thick shade cover as well as benches for the dog owners. The dog run is paved rather than grassy, which means no muddy paws! Be sure to bring your own water and waste bags.

Country Club
Pelham Bay Park Dog Run, located around 24 miles away from Jericho, is one of the first dog runs built by the Parks Department of NYC. The dog run is a decent size and provides plenty of shade. Doggie bags are provided, as well as a faucet with fresh water and water bowls. In the warm months, the park even puts out a kiddie pool for the pups to cool off in! Make sure you bring a towel if you plan to let your pup swim. Close to the run, you'll find Orchard Beach, which allows leashed dogs to enjoy the sun and surf during the off-season!
