Sands Point

About a thirty-minute drive – accounting for traffic – from Roslyn is Cunningham Park Dog Run, located in Queens' Auburndale neighborhood. This spacious dog run is known for how large it is. Like most dog parks, there are two separate sections for you to choose from, depending on the size of your four-legged fur-iend. The surface of this dog park is mostly mulch and dirt, so it can get quite muddy after it rains; keep that in mind if you don’t want to deal with a dirty dog! Please bring along waste disposal bags to clean up after your pooch; no one wants to step in anything.

Sagamore Hill National Historic Site - Oyster Bay

If you’re looking to make a day of exploring with your dog, head twenty minutes east of Roslyn to Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, located in Oyster Bay. You and your leashed dog can explore the historic grounds where Teddy Roosevelt once lived! While he can’t enter any buildings with you, you can take him down the nature trail to the shoreline and let him play in the water.
