North Hauppauge

North Hauppauge is home to the Blydenburgh County Park, a 627-acre park that's only 20 minutes from West Babylon. Within this massive park is a two-acre fenced dog park that has separate small and large dog areas. Both of the off-leash areas are double-gated for added safety, and there are wooden paths throughout the park that you can walk along while you watch your dog play on plenty of green space surrounding the paths. There are also water spigots for keeping active dogs hydrated, and there are several walking trails of varying difficulty throughout the rest of the park.

West Hills County Park

West Hills is a hamlet in New York with a population of over 5,500 people, and it's about a 15-minute drive from West Babylon. The West Hills County Park is over 800 acres, and included in that space is hiking trails, picnic facilities, horseback riding, and a dog run. The off-leash dog run has a separate small dog area within it, as well as waste bins, benches, and bags for your convenience. There is something for everyone in the whole family to do at West Hills County Park! Whether it's at the dog run, the paths, or a playground, you're sure to enjoy your time there. Please note there is a small fee to access the park during the warm months of the year.

Wantagh Park

Some parks hold a special place in people's (and dogs') hearts because of how friendly the dogs and their owners who frequent it are. Wantagh Park is one of these special places, and it's only 20 minutes from West Babylon in Wantagh, New York. Wantagh Park is a 111-acre park with athletic fields, tennis courts, a two-mile fitness trail, boating and fishing facilities, a swimming pool, mini golf, and of course, an off-leash dog park! The dog park has separate sections for dog breeds of different sizes, and it was recently re-turfed with AstroTurf which makes for easy cleanup of any doggy messes.

South Copiague

Copiague is a hamlet on Long Island, and it's just about a 15-minute drive from West Babylon. In South Copiague, there's a place called the Tanner Dog Park Run, and it's sure to become a favorite place for both you and Rover. The Tanner Park Dog Run isn't a huge dog park, but it does have separate sections for big and small dogs, as well as seating, shade, water, and waste bags. The rest of Tanner Park is equally fun, with a splash pad, playgrounds, fishing, food service, sports fields, and a boat launch area. Tanner Park has become synonymous with fun and activity in Copiague and the Babylon area, and you and your pet will be so glad you visited.

Sayville West

Sayville is located on the south shore of Long Island, and it's only a 20-minute drive from West Babylon. It's known for its tree-lined streets, old-fashioned homes, and trendy boutiques and other amenities. In the western part of the Hamlet, there's a dog park called Cherry Avenue Dog Park that occupies about 1.5 acres of land. The park is surrounded by a four-foot high fence, and it has sections for big dogs as well as a section for dogs under 25 pounds. There is also a water spigot and seating at the park, but visitors are advised to bring their own waste disposal bags.
