This Islip neighborhood is home to Brookwood Hall Park, a furtastic place to take your dog for an on-leash walk. This 35-acre park has nature trails that go through the forest and past a large lake. There are also plenty of benches along the lake where you can sit with your dog and enjoy the view. Your dog will always have a good time strolling around this park. After the park, treat yourself and your pup to a snack at Culture Yogurt. This frozen yogurt shop has two dog-friendly tables, and they offer a wide variety of frozen yogurt flavors and toppings. Bring your dog their own treat, and have a great time sharing a snack with your best friend.

If you’re searching for a woof-derful off-leash dog run near Islip, check out Blydenburgh Dog Park. This two-acre dog park is about eight miles from Islip, and it has separate areas for big and small dogs. Both areas have large fields for dogs to run around in, and they also both have wooded paths where your pup can go for strolls off-leash. Both sections are double-gated to keep your dog safe and secure, and there are doggy water fountains available for your pup. Your pup will love running around and meeting other dogs in this fun dog park.

West Bay Shore
Want to spend the day at the beach with your dog? Head over to Gardiner County Park in West Bay Shore. Located just four miles from Islip, this park welcomes dogs on-leash on its oceanside trail. Bring water and some doggy bags, and have a pawesome time walking on the sand with your dog. If you’re hungry after your walk, check out Swept Away. This casual restaurant allows dogs at their four outside tables, and they serve freshly caught seafood, burgers, pizza, and more. If your dog was a good boy at the park, order them their own side of bacon!

Marina Lane
If you want let your pup play on the beach off-leash, head over to Mud Creek Dog Park, which is about 15 miles from Islip. Dogs are allowed to run and play off-leash on this whole beach. They can also splash around in Patchogue Bay here. The area isn’t fenced in, so make sure to keep your dog under voice control while they’re playing. Also, be sure to bring some water and doggy bags for your pup. Your dog will have a blast frolicking around in the sand on this beautiful beach!

For another fun off-leash area, head over to this Melville neighborhood and check out West Hills County Dog Park. This dog park is about 16 miles from Islip, and it has separate fenced-in areas for small and large dogs. Both areas have lots of space for your dog to run in, and there’s fresh water available for them. If playing in the park makes you and your pup hungry, head to Roast Sandwich House, which is right next door to the park. This deli has two dog-friendly outdoor tables, and they serve up a wide variety of sandwiches and wraps made with all-natural, whole-roasted meats. They also have salads, vegetarian paninis, and seasonal offerings.
