Melissa did a great, caring walk for both of our dogs. She was very informative and the dogs enjoyed their walk and Melissa. They were both hesitant at first since this was the first walking with an unfamiliar face. Both dogs warmed up quickly. We look forward to using Melissa in the near future.

Ironville Pike

Ironville Pike

Columbia's Ironville Pike neighborhood is just over three miles from Mountville, and has a few parks that will no doubt get that tail wagging. The 54 acre Grubb Lake Park used to be the site of an iron ore mine, but the mine pit has now filled with water, creating the Grubb Lake you see today. There is a one mile hiking trail that circles the park, as well as numerous picnic spots along the way. The beautifully landscaped, 11 acre Silver Spring Park is also worth checking out, with its sports facilities, play area and paved walking path, while the 8.8 acre Ironville Community Park is home to sports facilities, play equipment and several open green areas.

East Side

East Side

About 11 miles from Mountville is the East Side neighborhood of Lancaster, where you will find a couple of parks that your pooch will love. Reservoir Park is one of these, with its street hockey rink, basketball courts, picnic pavilion and open grassy areas, as well as a walking trail to take you and your pooch through all of this. Musser Park is also worth a visit, because while it may be smaller, the majority of it is a large green expanse, pawfect for sniffing about in, with a playground at one corner. Since these are both city parks, remember to keep your pup on a lead at all times, and bring some drinking water and doggie bags with you too.

Also known as Beau's Dream Dog Park at Buchanan Park, this park recently received a $500,000 celebrity makeover, meaning that it now has some truly pawsome features. There are separate areas for smaller and larger dogs, with each section containing a splash pad, as well as a tunnel for the small dogs and a tennis ball launcher for the large dogs.
