Emily walked our dog Banjo Friday night and Saturday morning while we were out of town. She did a phenomenal job taking care of him and keeping us updated, and even cleaned up an accident that he had which we did not anticipate! This colorful park is full of fun things that your dog will enjoy, like the splash pads that are the perfect place to cool off on warm days! Separate areas for small and large dogs are provided. In the small dog area, there is a doxie tunnel, and in the large dog area, there is a tennis ball pitching machine! Pet parents can rest and relax at the park's seating area while they watch their pooches play.

York

John C. Rudy County Park is located in York, across the Susquehanna River and about 20 minutes from Elizabethtown. The off-leash dog park here offers three enclosed areas where large doggos and small puppers can comfortably play. Fido will have plenty of grassy space to play, run, and sniff out some new friends! Water fountains and doggie waste bags are both provided at this park, so all you need to bring is plenty of energy to play the day away. This park is open until sundown -- if you continue to play here after dark, you may face a fine.

Kohl Memorial Park

Happy Tails Dog Park is located in Kohl Memorial Park in Harrisburg, and if you make the short trip here, your pup's tail is sure to wag in appreciation! Around 19 miles away from Elizabethtown, this park offers a safe, enclosed space with a five-foot fence and a double-gated entry system. There are separate areas for small and large dogs for extra safety. Although trash cans are provided here, waste bags are not, so please bring some of your own. All dogs that enter the park have to be spayed or neutered. Not digging the dog park? Leash up and hit the walking trails within the main park.

Fruitville

Overlook Dog Park is another pawesome dog park located nearby -- about 18 miles away, to be exact. This Fruitville facility is a fenced, off-leash dog park complete with separate areas for small and large dogs, fresh water, and doggie waste bags. There is also an area where dogs of all sizes can interact and play with each other. The park is enriched with a wooded area that provides shade, and plenty of benches where the dog parents can rest up and look over their fur babies! There's only one catch -- you'll need to pay a membership fee to play here.

North Harrisburg

If you enjoy leashed walks on wooded paths with your best furry friend by your side, then you should visit Wildwood Park located in Harrisburg. Although it's a little ways from Elizabethtown at 28 miles away, this park offers a lot of amenities for you and your canine friend. This nature center has a 3-mile hiking trail that features both paved and natural terrain. Dogs are allowed to explore the grounds, but cannot go inside the nature center. There are working water fountains where you can get fresh water for your pup, as well as waste bag stations and trash cans!
