East Harrisburg

East Harrisburg consists of several residential neighborhoods, and it's a busy and beautiful part of Harrisburg with something to offer everyone. That includes dogs and dog owners as East Harrington is home to Happy Tails Dog Park. This two-acre park has a five-foot fence surrounding it with separate sections for dogs of different sizes, as well as a double-gated entry system to ensure your dog can't run away. Visitors love that there is so much space, seating when it's time to take a break, and plenty of waste bins to keep the park clean.

Northern Tier

The Northern Tier area of Harrisburg is located on the outskirts of the city. It is home to many thriving industries in the city, including healthcare, retail, and construction. Wildwood Park is located in this area, and it's a beautiful place to go on a nature walk with your dog. This park has a paved path that stretches about three miles, and your dog is welcome to join you provided he is on a leash. You'll see many different flora and fauna species (as well as plenty of bird-watchers), and it's a great place to get up close and personal with nature.

Downtown

Downtown Harrisburg is a thriving spot in the city with plenty of restaurants, churches, hotels, and businesses to visit. The Capitol Area Greenbelt can also be accessed through downtown Harrisburg. This 20-mile trail takes you through beautiful parts of Harrisburg whether you're on two feet, four feet, or two wheels. The trail was once a railway line but it was reclaimed as a trail, and it connects to a network of trails that spans across America. Your trip will take you to different parks, wooded areas, and gardens in Harrisburg and both you and Rover are sure to love it.

Midtown

Midtown is an exciting neighborhood in Harrisburg that is home to the oldest street market in the country as well as the Pennsylvania Governor's mansion and several historic homes. This neighborhood also has a theatre, several restaurants, museums, interesting architecture, and activities for people of all ages to enjoy. One of the many great shops in the neighborhood is Cavanaugh's Collars and Friends. They sell custom pet collars, treats, and other goodies for dogs, cats, and even birds. Your pet can join you for a shopping spree at this store, and you're sure to both find something you love.

North York

Only a 30-minute drive from Harrisburg is John Rudy Park, located in north York, Pennsylvania. Within John Rudy Park there is a beautiful dog park known as Canine Meadows. This massive park has several acres for your dog to explore and it even has three separate sections for dogs of different sizes to interact and play safely together. There are also walking trails around the park, waste bags, and water fountains for thirsty pups. There are plenty of trees for sniffing or for providing shade, and the park is closely patrolled to make sure everyone is safe and having a great time.
