Devine Lake Park is a beautiful 45-acre regional park that encompasses a lake and offers plenty of outdoor activities. These include boating, wildlife observing, hiking, and fishing. If you are interested in staying at the park, facility rentals can be reserved online.

Devine Lake Park is actually part of the city of Leander, TX, which is also home to six other parks. The other parks offer additional amenities like baseball/soccer fields, playscapes, splash pads, and walking trails. Your dog is welcome to join you throughout all of these parks as long as they remain on leash.

There are times in which Fido just needs to visit a place that's just for him. Phil Hardberger Dog Park is just that place. There are clearly marked trails that you can take your dog on, or he can play off-leash in one of the fenced in areas. He can run and play with all his fur buddies while you sit on one of the benches in the shade. When you are all done, just stop by for a quick rinse before getting in the car.

    You definitely need to make the 35-mile trek over to Comanche Lookout Park. There is a 4.5-mile trail that leads up a nice elevation so that you can get a good look at the area. The lookout tower is a great hideaway, complete with historical markers. There are tons of spots to explore here. You can even take your mini human to run and play on the playground. This is an on-leash park, and a great family-friendly place. You are sure to see lots of other fur friends all through the park, so get out there and find some new playmates for Fido!

    Since you have taken the 35-mile trip to San Antonio, you should go ahead and check out the other side of the Alamo. Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours invite you to grab a leash and drag your dog through a side of the city that few can really see. You can choose to do a family tour early in the evening, or an adults-only tour late at night.
