Alon Loop
If you go just 30 minutes from Natalia and into San Antonio, you will find a whole new world for you and your dog to explore. This city has everything a pooch could want, including several dog parks. Phil Hardberger Dog Park comes highly recommended by most locals. The reason is simple: it has everything a dog and human could need or want. There are trails to explore, room to run, and new pups to befriend. There is a little children’s park too, which makes this the pawfect place for a family outing. Be aware that pups aren’t allowed in the children’s park, even on a leash.

All the things that go bump in the night are ready for you and your dog to explore. Bad Wolf Ghost Tours are just under 30 minutes from Natalia and take you to the other realm of your familiar world. Don’t worry about your dog; as long as they are on the leash, they’re allowed to learn about the capers of San Antonio right along with you. Walk to all the historic sights and museums to learn about the history you may not want to know about. The guided tours fill up fast, so please make sure to book early, especially if you plan to bring Fido along.24

Downtown San Antonio
When you finish walking through the other realm of the city, you should definitely stop in at Rita's on the River. The whole staff is fur-iendly. The patio seating is just the right atmosphere for a night out with Fido and friends. The fare is classic Texas food. Chips and salsa arrive at your table almost immediately. With portions big enough for you to share with your dog, you are going to get full fast and be ready for a siesta. Meet your friends, or make new ones; hospitality is the first item on the menu. Don’t forget to bring Fido’s leash!

Downtown Alamo Heights
Dinner with your dog is the main event at The Broadway 5050. It is also just what you’ll want after the 40-minute trip from Natalia. You and Fido can enjoy a meal at the outdoor tables. Your server will bring Fido a water bowl at the same time they bring your drinks! Try some crispy fried pickles, or dare to be different and order their signature pepper burger. Here in Texas, everything is hot. But don’t worry -- there are plenty of dog-friendly dishes to choose from that don’t have as much of a kick. Check the schedule for the latest games on the big screen!

Downtown Boerne
If you are looking for a dog-friendly destination and don’t mind the hour drive, then Random Beer Gardens is the place to be. The weekends are the only time this happens, but we couldn’t think of a better way to spend a weekend. There is almost always a different live band playing here. The lawn is packed with picnic tables, dogs on blankets, and dogs on leashes. The beer on tap changes constantly so you can try something new each time you visit. There’s a long line of food trucks here, so you can chow down on whatever type of cuisine you might be craving!
