Kind, compassionate pet whisperer. I've worked in the veterinary field for over 12 years. I've had dogs in my life since I was a child, and currently have a sweet boxer girl. Looking to meet some new doggy friends to hang out with and have some fun! Your pup will be in good hands!
Leander is a Texas town full of charm. Whether you’re looking to settle in or just passing through, take the time to explore a great dog-friendly town. Leander has four vets, including full-service animal hospitals, to make sure every dog stopping in is feeling fine.
Despite the name, Sandy Creek Park is not very sandy and it’s not a creek. This park sits on Lake Travis, giving you access to the water and a rocky pebble beach. It’s great for cooling off in the summer, as dogs can only be off leash if they’re swimming, and as long as they remain under verbal control. You could also check out Robin Bledsoe Park. This person-oriented park is a great, large place to walk your dog right in the heart of Leander. It’s easy to find and won’t take you out of your way if you intended to grab a bite with your pooch later on.
One of the best ways to enjoy all that Leander has to offer is to stay at the Leander NW Austin KOA. Camping with your pup keeps him close and connected to nature, and is a fun stop outside the box for both of you. Try to get a good night’s sleep, because there’s more Leander to explore tomorrow!
If you’re looking for a great place to have dinner with your dog in Downtown Leander, Leander Beer Market is the place to go! This restaurant specializes in top quality food, from traditional gastropub apps to calzones and pizza for dinner. The true light of the establishment is their 300+ beer selection, and the fact that you dog can join you on the patio! The patio has pool tables, as well as space for outdoor diners to enjoy. Your pup can be the life of the party, and you get full access to the fun every night at Leander Beer Market.
Devine Lake Park is as heavenly as the name implies. The park is not very large, but it has everything a dog can want, except water which you’ll have to provide yourself! The park is divided into two areas, one for people and one for dogs. You can take your leashed dog through the trails and down by the water, but it’s the fenced in, off leash portion of the park that he'll love the most! Devine Lake Park’s fenced in area is fairly small, but still large enough for off leash dogs to kick up their heels, romp, and have a blast!
Dining in good company is what really makes a meal, and most dog owners agree that there’s one dinner companion who never disappoints. If you want to bring your dog, look no further than Lone Star Grille & Bubba’s Backyard. This restaurant is as Southern as you can get in Leander. They have extensive outdoor tables, and provided the weather is nice, are happy to seat canine guests. Your dog can enjoy a good bowl of water while you look over a menu full of Southern favorites. The restaurant is popular and can be busy, but is a must-see if you’re going to be visiting the Sweet Farms neighborhood.
If you’re looking for pizza with a bit of something special, bring your dog and your appetite to Southern’s Pizza in The Fairways at Crystal Falls neihgborhood. This pizzeria offers traditional flavors and favorites, like garlic bread, build your own pizza, and green salads. The speciality pizzas offer more variety, like Mexican-inspired green chile chicken with a white jalapeno sauce. Canine companions are welcome to join you at the outdoor tables. If you think you’re going to get there during the dinner rush, call ahead to make sure that their outdoor tables are available to accommodate your whole party. The food will be worth it, but the company really can’t be beat.
