Burkes Beach

Whether you fancy yourself a seafarer or a land-lubber, Burkes Beach is the place for you! Just a short walk from the Hilton Head Resort and located directly next to Chaplin Community Park, you won't have any trouble finding this pawsome seaside treasure. If you're longing to dip your feet in the warm sea water or to read a great novel while lounging on the shore, Burkes Beach is the ideal spot for relaxation and fun. Best of all, Fido can join you for a swim or a stroll; dogs are warmly welcomed at this pawsitively awesome beach. Be sure to bring a leash with you to stay on fur-iendly terms with the South Carolina paw-lice as there are strict leash laws in effect. 

One of Burkes Beach's charms is its pristine naturally landscaped coastline. Though the beach is typically not crowded, there is limited pawr-king, so you'll want to arrive early to get a great spot. Pawr-king is available for 0.25 cents for 15 minutes or $1.00 per hour. 

If a woofderful outdoor adventure tops your wish list of things to do, Burkes Beach won't disappoint! You can rent a beach chair and umbrella from the on-premise shop and set up a comfy spot in the sand where you can relax with your best canine pal. Find yourself craving a snack? A picnic lunch could be just what the dog-tor ordered! When you pack your bag for the beach, don't forget snacks and treats for Fido, some bottled water, and just in case, throw in a few extra cleanup bags.

If you're looking to get in a little workout during your visit to the beach, there are many pawrific trails for you and your favorite furry friend to explore. If biking is more your cup of tea, you've found the pawrfect spot to enjoy your activity of choice!

Bathrooms are available for the paw-blic to use. There are also outdoor showers where you and your pooch can rinse off some sand before hitting the road for home. While in winter, dogs are  permitted on the beach at any time, in summer, dogs are only allowed before 10 AM and after 5 PM.
