Driessen Beach

Could Fido and the fam use a day of adventure? Why not bring them to Driessen Beach? This pawrific coastal property is known as Hilton Head Island's "best worst-kept secret." Its location appears to be quite secluded as it is nestled in an area of deep shade and heavy woods which makes it a challenge to find, but Driessen Beach is worth the effort of putting your Magellan-like powers to the test! Not as heavily trafficked as other Hilton Head beaches, this hidden gem offers the best of sand and surf with something sure to suit the tastes of every member of the family, whether they are of the canine or human sort. 

When you arrive at the beach, you will discover a wooden boardwalk reminiscent of a pawsome nature trail. This boardwalk meanders through forest-like growth until you land directly on the sandy shores of the beach. Here, the calm waves will beckon you to grab your best canine pal and hit the surf for some pawrific swimming in the calm gulf waters. Forgot your beach chair? Not a problem. You can rent beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas right on the beach. Don't forget to pick up an extra towel for Fido too, so he doesn't scorch his paws on the sand! Your favorite furry friend is permitted in all areas of Driessen Beach but be sure to observe the seasonal hours and to keep Fido on a lead at all times. The local paw-lice will thank you for it!

There is ample pawr-king available via the on-site lot. Parking costs 0.50 cents per hour. This coastal gem is such a woofderful spot you'll want to stay at least a few hours so be sure to bring some cash with you to feed the meter. 

Driessen Beach offers so many puptastic things for you to do you won't know where to start! As an added bonus, you can bring your pooch along to join in the beachside fun too! Among the most pawpular activities are swimming, picnicking, walking, and water sports. This pawsome beach also has a lot of on-site amenities including drinking water, bathrooms, and outdoor showers. There is also a playground to keep the kiddoes busy. Be sure to bring some cleanup bags with you from home.
