It is unknown if there is a section reserved for use by small dogs. Though the dog play area is a designated off-leash zone, it is required that all dogs remain on a leash when going to and from the enclosure. Additionally, owners are asked to carry a leash with them at all times in case of an emergency.
Access to this doggy play haven is fee-based and reserved for members only. Memberships are available for purchase via the Brookline Town Clerk's office, and a current pass is required to enter the park facility. Fees begin at $50 for Brookline residents and $100 for non-residents.
Prices are slightly higher for commercial dog walkers at $100 for city residents and $200 for those residing in other areas. Guest passes are available at the cost of $5 per two-day pass and $10 for a one week permit. Proof of vaccinations and a current city dog license is required at the time of registration.
Water is provided on-site at this dog play space to ensure that Fido remains well-hydrated during his time at the park. Unfortunately, there are no public bathrooms on the premises. Though poop bags are not available at this dog park, Massachusetts state law requires that all owners carry bags with them to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste materials to help preserve the cleanliness of the park space for all to enjoy.
It is important to note that this play space operates under seasonal hours. During warmer times of the year, this public property is also used as a baseball diamond. From March through November, the park is open for off-leash play between the hours of dawn and 1 PM. In the remaining months of the year, it is accessible to all dogs from dawn to dusk. For a day at the park you will never forget, bring Fido to Brookline Avenue Playground Dog Park!
