Brookline Avenue Playground Dog Park

If making new friends is on your pupper's barket list this year, bring them to the Brookline Avenue Playground Dog Park! Nestled on the northeastern edge of town, this fenced pooch hangout is a great place for Brookline's canine citizens to mingle with one another, and get some exercise while they're at it. So let your little social barkterfly run and play to their heart's content at this pawsome off-leash area!

The Brookline Avenue Playground Dog Park is part of the town's Green Dog Program, which has established off-leash hours in 14 locations across Brookline. To make better use of park space, the Brookline Avenue Playground's athletic field doubles as a canine play area when it is not being used. From March to November, four-legged visitors can sniff, sprint, and socialize sans leash between sunrise and 1 PM. From December to February, the field goes to the dogs, literally, from sunrise to sunset. Outside of the off-leash hours, Fido must stay on-leash.

Be sure to register for the Green Dog Program before taking your pup for an unfettered romp. Registration forms are available online and at the Town Clerk's Office. The annual fee is $50 per dog for residents and $100 per dog for non-residents. You'll then receive a Green Dog tag, which your pupper must wear when visiting the dog park. If you and Fido are just traveling through town, you can get a 2-day or 1-week guest permit, which costs $5 and $10 per dog, respectively. 

Don't forget to stoop and scoop if your furry companion goes to the bathroom! Bring your own doggie waste bags and water as these are not available on-site. With plenty of room to roam and stretch their legs, however, your pooch will definitely give the Brookline Avenue Playground Dog Park four paws up!
