This park also has some fairly unique rules regarding off-leash usage. This park only allows you to take your canine off leash if it is between sunrise and 9 AM. Outside these time frames, your canine must remain on its leash. Due to these restrictions, this dog park is primarily used by residents of the neighborhood. For a park that has very tight restrictions on its canine visitors, it does host a few good amenities for canines and their owners. This park does have a watering station for your canine as well as bags available to pick up after your canine and wastebaskets to dispose of it in.
Outside of those off-leash hours, this park is frequented by children playing on the playground and around the park. On the playground side of the park, your canine is not allowed. During daylight hours your canine may still come to the park with you, however, they must remain on their leash if it is after 9 AM.
Summit Avenue, the street adjacent to the park, is a delightful place to walk your canine. Down the street at Coolidge Corner, you will find several dog-friendly shops and coffee shops that encourage you to bring your canine. This makes for a great way to spend a few hours with your four-legged friend.
The city does require your canine to have a permit. That permit is granted through city establishments and requires proof of rabies vaccination. You can learn more about this permit, which comes in the form of a green tag, on the city website.
