Though Griggs Park Off-Leash Dog Area is a designated off-leash zone, it is important to note that it is not fenced. Dogs who lack a solid recall should remain on a lead for their own safety. Additionally, owners should carry a leash with them at all times in case of an emergency.
Access to this doggy play haven is fee-based, and membership is required. Residents of Brookline can purchase a yearly permit for $50 with non-resident memberships available at $100 annually. Commercial dog walkers pay slightly higher yearly premiums at $100 for Brookline residents and $200 for those residing in other areas. A two-day park permit is available for purchase for $5 with a weekly pass costing $10. All permits can be obtained via the Brookline Town Clerk's office. Passes are mandatory for entrance into the park space.Â
Griggs Park Off-Leash Dog Area is housed on 3.34 acres of property which provides ample ground for Fido and his family to explore. There are no bathroom facilities on the premises, and it is unknown if a potable water source is available.Â
Owners are encouraged to carry a bottle of water and a suitable vessel for drinking with them. It is also not known if poop bags are provided though Massachusetts state law does mandate that all owners pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste. For some off-leash play at a great park, bring Fido for a visit to Griggs Park Off-Leash Dog Area!
