Claredon Park is a vibrant neighborhood with packed residential homes, an uptown retail center, and parks for miles along the coast. One of the favorite parks to go to for dog lovers in the area is Clarendon Park, which offers nearly 50 acres to walk, play in, and explore for kids and pups. The park itself is of pretty big size, with fields surrounded by trees and shaded sitting areas, and best of all, it even offers a dog park for pups!
When you head to the park, you'll have to park your car along the road that cuts through the park, or the ones that go around the green space. Once parked, sidewalks around the edges of the space connect to inner trails. One leads to the Clarendon Dog Park, also known as Clarendog Park. The dog park is of modest size, with a single area for pups of all size to play in. There's a secure area with double gates that let you and Fido into the space, which holds trash bins, a bench, and clean-up bags. Inside the action park, pups are free to run around the enclosed area protected by a 5-foot high chainlink fence.
The park's terrain is made from concrete and sand, with concrete sitting areas, trees on the west side of the dog park that offer shade, and dog-sized water fountains. If you don't plan on socializing much, the rest of Claredon Park is dog-friendly to leashed pups, offering nearly a mile of paved walkways with access to more water fountains, places to sit in the shade, and space to run around with your pooch. There are restrooms near the community center, along with picnic tables.
The area is the perfect place to get out in the city, whether you're looking for a one-on-one walk with your pooch, or a safe place to let them play with other dogs and enjoy some of the greenery.
