Located in Chicago, Illinois’ South Loop community area is a unique dog park welcoming to local pawtastic pups and visitor’s alike! If your pup is anxious to get out and burn off some pent-up steam, why not check out the Fred Anderson Park, which houses the puptastic Fred Anderson Dog Park!
You can easily access the dog park area by heading to the south end of the park on Wabash Avenue where you will see the entrance. There are two separate areas for puperific pups – one large dog section and one small dog section, and both are accessed at this main entrance. There are double security fencing gates here as well to keep all pups entering and exiting safe and the entire park is fenced.
Choose which location your pup will be happiest romping. The small dog section is suitable for petite pups and elderly dogs of any size. Each section is covered in either a concrete surface or artificial grass. They have water fountains that your furever friend can play in to cool themselves during the hot Chicago summers, and lots of structures and tunnels which pups can crawl into to find a bit of shade. Human guests have not been forgotten either, and there are picnic tables where you can have lunch, and park benches for sitting and watching Fido have fun!
Drinking fountains are provided for both dogs and people, and restrooms are not far away in Fred Anderson Park itself. Be sure to keep your pup on leash while walking in the park until they are safely inside the dog park fencing, and be sure to use the doggie clean up station bags which the park has provided.
The Fred Anderson Dog Park is chock full of doggie goodness that no pup could pass by. Stop there today and let your furry friend have a bit of exercise and fun with you nearby.
