Whatever your plans are, McKinley Park is a great place to get some fresh air and exercise with your canine companion.
McKinley Park has plenty of indoor facilities, including gymnasiums, meetings rooms, a kitchen, and restrooms. While your furry pal is not allowed inside, they are welcome to join you in most of the outdoor areas. Some of the outdoor features include a variety of athletic fields and courts, sprawling grassy areas, and a newly renovated playground.
Probably the ideal thing to do in McKinley Park with your canine companion is simply to take a walk and enjoy nature. The park has paved walking paths that meander through the area, and are lined with shade trees and some benches. There are boardwalks that surround a large lagoon on the east side of the park, and lookout points over the lagoon that are great for wildlife watching, so don’t forget your binoculars! You’ll have the chance to spot dozens of bird species that make the lagoon their resting spot. McKinley Park is a must to stop by on your morning walk or jog with Fifi.
Dogs are allowed to join you throughout the outdoor areas of the park as long as they stay leashed, and leave only paw prints behind. Don’t forget the waste bags! It’s a great place to make some new furry friends and enjoy a sense of community.
With all the natural beauty and convenient amenities in this park, it’s sure to please your family, and your family dog!
