Archie
You will find Archie, a small, populated area in Louisiana, 13 minutes west of Jonesville. The journey here will be a pleasant ride along the Little River stream! The community is home to a small local wildlife refuge -- however, you and Fido should head to Catahoula National Wildlife Refuge. It’s a huge green space right across from the village, complete with 25,000 acres of striking wildlife and wilderness. Keep in mind that, although pups are welcome on-leash in the area, you'll have to get a permit before visiting the refuge. If you want to camp nearby, Old River Campground in Rhinehart is a cool place to stop!

Bring some food with you to share with the pup! Here, you'll also find a playground for kids and a splash pad to cool off. There’s also an old baseball field here, where you can play with Fido if there are no games on. However, always keep your buddy on-leash!

There are no walking or hiking trails, but Fido is welcome on-leash in any area. Remember to clean up after your pup!

Cocoville
If you need a low-key resort, outdoor fun, and indoor attractions at the same time, Cocoville in Marksville is a fantastic choice! It’s a very friendly and quite touristy neighborhood in the southern region of Marksville, LA. Stay overnight on a budget in Hampton Inn & Suites with Fido! Check the website for information on fees and restrictions. Love em-bark-ing on adventures in nature? Then you should paw on over to Paragon Casino Resort and RV Park! This spot is a fun, local favorite place to "ruff" it with a canine companion. And, yes, all areas are pet-friendly! Just keep the leash with you at all times.
