Northern North East is a mostly industrial area with plenty of places for commuters to stop on their way home from a long day. If you are in a hurry to get back to your beloved pup, you can stop quickly at the Flying J before heading to your home to walk your dog. The local Dunkin’ Donuts is a great place if you have your dog with you when a caffeine craving hits. The North East Creek is a wonderful place to stop with your dog for a quick splash before heading to Burger King or McDonalds for a meal on their outdoor patio. Close to the highway, Northern North East is a popular neighborhood whether you are just stopping by or if you call it home.

Central North East

Central Northeast is found at the North East River base. You will find unique places to stop with your dog in Central Northeast, including Chesapeake Bay Coffee, where you can enjoy a cup of your favorite caffeinated brew before heading out with your newfound energy on your pawesome adventures. There are plenty of green spaces to take your dog for a quick morning stroll or a picnic. You will find many other dogs along the way to make friends with, as this neighborhood is close to schools and highways that are popular among commuting families. Just make sure you have plenty of waste bags and treats for puptastic behavior!

Westover

Westover is just minutes from Central North East. Westover is mostly comprised of large areas of public land that run right up to the bay. This makes Westover the pawfect place for an afternoon getaway. If it has been a long week at the office, you may find that Westover is just what you need to recharge with your best friend. The area is perfect for picnics with pups; just make sure you clean up the grass before you leave, and make sure you keep your dog on-leash, especially if there are other families sharing the grass on warmer spring days.

Altamont Place

Altamont Place is a residential neighborhood just north of Central North East and Westover. This neighborhood is quiet and tranquil. This makes it ideal for dog lovers and dog walkers who want a pretty neighborhood for walking and exploring after work or early on a Saturday morning, without a lot of fuss or traffic to worry about. You will need to keep your dog on a leash in Altamont Place, but he won’t even notice as you make your way past manicured lawns and bright, snifferific gardens that are pawfect for inspecting more closely! Just don’t leave your waste bags at home!

Elk Neck

Elk Neck is a neighborhood in the southernmost part of North East. This neighborhood rests on the tip of the bay and offers a lovely view of the Chesapeake. Elk Neck State Park is just minutes away, where the north east river opens up. If you don’t have time to spend the day at the state park, North East Community Park is a small but popular destination for dog walkers and families on warm days. You can relax here with your dog for a picnic, some reading, or a game of fetch with your dog’s favorite tennis balls. Just don’t forget the waste bags for once the fun is over.
