There are 417 acres to explore in this bird-lover’s paradise. Water fowl frequent the area here, so it is a a great place to photograph your pup in the wild. You can hike with Fido for miles and often you will not run into another person in this rural adventure spot, so Fido can enjoy some off-leash time. Be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks to share.

Palmyra

Pack up your bag and head to the Madawaska Marsh Game Management Area for an outdoor getaway in the fresh air for you and your pawtastic pup in the town of Palmyra, a short 8-mile drive southwest of Corinna. The area offers 291 acres for you and your pup to spend some quality time together. There are hiking trails to take Fido off the beaten paths, and a few picnic tables where you can share a lunch. Hunting is allowed during certain times of the year, so plan ahead during those dedicated times. Your furry friend is welcome off leash.

Waverly

Pinnacle Park is where you and Fido should spend summer hiking in the Waverly neighborhood, of the town of Pittsfield, 13 miles southwest of Corinna. Enjoy the groomed trails in the beautiful countryside here while walking Fido along the groomed trails. During the winter months, these trails are used for skiers, and is well-known as a ski location. It is the perfect place to enjoy the scenery and the great outdoors with your fur-ever friend by your side. Please keep Fido on leash here and pack plenty of water to share. Cleaning up after your pup to keep the area pristine.

East Pittsfiled

In the East Pittsfield neighborhood of the town of Pittsfield, 7 miles southwest of Newport, you will want to visit Hawthorne Park, which is pup-friendly and offers sports courts and a beautiful gazebo where events are held. Take Miss Fifi for an on-leash walk throughout the park along the paved paths. During summer months, don’t miss the park’s transformation into a local Farmer’s Market. Or try Manson Park on the Sabasticook River which features similar amenities on its 45 acres of landscaped grounds. Your pup will enjoy a stroll throughout its landscaped grounds.
