Hallowell
If you and Fido are roaming around Hallowell and need a pick me up, then stop into Juiced. They offer a huge menu that has freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, and protein shakes. You can also grab a bite to eat and enjoy it on their dog-friendly outdoor patio. If you are looking for something sweet to dive into then stop at Dairy Queen for an ice cream. Their menu includes an assortment of different sweet desserts that your dog will be dying to get a lick of or you can order a burger and let Fido have a bite while you relax on their patio. Work off your meal at Vaughan Woods. This wooded area and historical house offers a hiking trail that is pawtastic for a walk with your pup. While hiking, you will come across a stone bridge, waterfalls, and a meadow.

Capitol Park is a great park to get a walk in at with your dog. This large park is covered with trees to provide shade, and features a long-paved walking trail. Take a break on the grass field or use one of the benches. The Augusta Waterfront Park is also in this neighborhood, and sits along the Kennebec River. Here, you can find a playground, grass area, and covered picnic area. Take a walk along the river with your furry pal. If Fido is looking for a smaller park, head over to the John Jack Cunningham Park which is filled with a playground, a few benches, and a nice paved walking path. These amazing parks are in Augusta, and only a mile out of Hallowell.

City Center
The Waterfront Park sits along the Kennebec River and provides a great space for a walk and scenic view. Besides a nice walking path, this park also offers grass that your dog can roll around on, but make sure your dog is social since this park often hosts events. The Gardiner Common is a small park that has a gazebo, playground, and a nice walking trail throughout it. Keep your pup on a leash while you visit these two amazing parks that are both in Gardiner, and only four miles out of Hallowell.

Mill Park is a great park to visit with your dog and have a great afternoon out together. The park sits along the river and has a covered picnic area, athletic fields, and a long-paved walkway that you can use for a walk. Williams Park is a pawsome park to spend a day out with your furry pal. The park has a basketball court, restrooms, a playground, and a large grass area to run around. There is a paved walking path through this fenced in park and some hills that you can exercise on and burn off some of your dog's energy. This is one of the only parks in Augusta that isn’t on the river, so if your dog dislikes the water, this is the park for them.
