Del Valle, Texas became a city as part of the Spanish land grant of 1812. At the time, there were only about fifty families living here. However, by 1907, there were enough families to establish the school that is still standing today. The city itself is alive because of family and tradition. You can feel the importance of family in the number of parks that fill the small town. Of course, this includes their pets as well! You don't have to worry about leaving your pet at home in Del Valle, because there is plenty you can do as long as you have a leash with you.

If you want something for the whole family to do, head on over to Southeast Metropolitan Park. You will find a playground, rock climbing walls, and picnic tables. Your and your fur baby can enjoy a walk or run on the hiking trails and explore the scenic natural areas.

For a quieter adventure, head on over to Barkley Meadows Park. There are multiple trails that lead through the park and around the pond. It is never very crowded, which makes it the perfect place to escape your busy life and spend some quality time with your dog.
