As a northern suburb of Dallas, The Colony is an amazing place to create countless lasting memories with your pooch. You'll fall in love with the city's commercial and cultural allure as well as its outdoor activities. The pooches, both locals and visitors, love the pet-friendly attitude of the area, as well as its two dog parks and three veterinary clinics.

You will find no better place to play than Pawesome Playground Dog Park in the northern part of town. This fenced, off-leash dog park near the water has plenty of open space to explore. If the Pawesome Playground isn't quite pawesome enough for your pup, don't despair! The Shacks Dining and Dog Park is a great alternative for your pooch to hang out in a cool, unique place where mouthwatering food is served to both humans and canines! You'll need to sign up for a membership before visiting.

Hankering for a hike? You'd be barking mad not to explore the Arbor Hills Trail, which is located just out of town, but is easily accessible. This dog-friendly trail stretches for about 3 miles in Denton County, from Arbor Vista Drive to West Parker Road, and is suitable for both beginner and seasoned hikers alike!

The Colony is a furrific place for dogs and their owners, particularly those who like to eat and play! (And, let's face it, who doesn't like to eat and play?)
