Lakes of La Cima - Prosper

Looking for a furrific place to visit with Fido? Head to the Lakes of La Cima – Prosper neighborhood! This area’s Pecan Grove Park has 21.5 acres of woofderful manicured grass where you and your leashed pup can play! Take a stroll around the beautiful sparkling pond and take in the sounds of the fountains spraying up from the middle of the water. There are mature trees that provide plenty of shade, plus picnic tables and benches where you can have a picnic or take in the scenery. There is a paved walking path that winds around the eastern perimeter of the park. For an extra-long walk, stay on the path as it heads north through a grassy greenbelt that runs through this lovely residential area.

Whispering Farms

You and your furry friend can have a pawsome adventure without even leaving town in the Whispering Farms neighborhood! This neighborhood is home to Town Lake Park at Whispering Farms, an 18-acre park full of things to see and sniff! There’s grass galore, plus tons of trees and a huge lake stocked for catch and release fishing. You and your leashed pup will love exploring the park’s gazebo and fishing dock, too. In warmer months, load up Fido in your kayak, canoe or standup paddle board and hit the water! The park is a pawpular place for escaping the Texas heat with non-motorized boats.

Southcentral Prosper

Enjoy wide open spaces with your pup in the Southcentral Prosper neighborhood! This newly developed, pleasant residential area is home to the 13-acre Folsom Park, one of Prosper’s larger outdoor recreation spaces. You and your leashed dog can see it all by hopping on the one-mile paved trail that loops around the perimeter of this beautiful grassy park, and around the north side of the puptacular pond. There’s usually ducks hanging out, so be prepared for your pooch to perk up when you get there! You and Fido can take a longer stroll by staying on the path as it heads northeast through a grassy greenway that runs between the neighborhood homes to another pond.

Frontier Estates

Leash your four-legged friend and check out another puptastic Prosper park in the Frontier Estates neighborhood! At almost 10 acres, the Cedar Grove Park has ample space to romp and roam with your pooch. There’s a large open field, and a woofderful wooded area where your dog can sniff out squirrels and other urban wildlife that may be hanging around! You and your pup will love strolling on the .58-mile paved hiking and biking path that makes a small loop around the meadow and a larger loop through the trees. The shaded loop is especially pleasant on those frequent warm Texas days.

Southwest Prosper

Your pup’s tail will be wagging like crazy in the Southwest Prosper neighborhood! This neighborhood’s Eagles Landing Park is a pawpular place for dog walking because of the paved half-mile path that loops through this 7.6-acre park. If you and your leashed pup prefer to stick to the grass, there’s plenty of that, too! There is a huge multi-purpose grassy field where you and your dog can stretch your legs and play, plus a wooded area bordering the south end of the loop. If you’ve brought the rest of the family along, there’s lots of amenities for them too, including baseball, softball and t-ball fields and a basketball court. There are also portable restrooms in this park.
