Jersey

Jersey is a quiet town with very little business to speak of. There is a post office and a church, along with some small places to get groceries. If you are looking for a pawfect place to go exploring with your pup, check out the South Arkansas Arboretum State Park. It is a forty-minute drive away from Jersey to the west. This haven for tree lovers has paved and mulched walking paths to choose from. These paths are popular with joggers, cyclists, and dog walkers, so be prepared to share the space with other two- and four-legged explorers during your visit.

Downtown El Dorado

El Dorado is about 30 minutes away from Jersey, but it is well worth the trip if you are looking for a city with some charm! There are plenty of public parks there to explore, such as Mitchell Park, which is a partially fenced-in open field, pawfect for tossing around a tennis ball or two. Southside Park is more of a public residential green space shared by the people who live on the block, but dogs on leashes are welcome as long as you clean up after your pet on your way through! Mattocks Park is another dog-friendly open field right in the middle of town.

Brookstone Park

Brookstone Park is a neighborhood on the northern end of El Dorado. It is home to the Lions Club Park, which has walking paths that wind through the park, allowing you to get a good glimpse at the greener side of the city. If you are looking for a fun staycation and happen to have an RV, Gator Den RV Park is a modernized park where you will find convenient RV parking and plenty of quiet space to spend some quality time with your fur family. Just make sure you are stocked up on waste bags so you can help keep things clean!

Poison Springs Battleground State Park

Poison Springs Battleground State Park is one hour away from Jersey. This state park is the site of one of three Civil War battles that took place in the area. Today, you will find plenty of historical markers and exhibits to entertain the history buff in your family, while there are plenty of trees to entertain your pup! The park has picnic sights and easy sand trails that are great for dogs of every size and skill. You will find beech, sweet gum, and pine trees throughout the park, along with bridges and stairs to make for an interesting weekend walk with your pooch!

White Oak Lake

White Oak Lake is a rural town a little over an hour from Jersey. On the edge of town, you will come to White Oak Lake State Park. This is a pupular spot among those who love fishing and sailing in the area. There is a scenic lake that welcomes visitors looking for a place to hike, camp, or picnic as well. Your four-legged friends are welcome on-leash whether they are going to camp or hike along with you. The park even has its own boat launch ramp with rigs included, if your pup happens to love sailing as much as you!
