You undoubtedly knew about Santa Clarita and its renown Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park, but you probably didn’t know that the Showtime series Weeds was actually filmed in the unincorporated community of Stevenson Ranch in Santa Clarita Valley. Stevenson Ranch has paw-lenty more of surprises waiting for you and Fido, but hopefully none that’ll end you up at one of the community’s two animal hospitals.

Stevenson Ranch is beautifully surrounded by majestic hills and parks. You just have to get out there and sniff ‘em out! Start off in Pico Canyon Park for a bit of exercise with Fido as you climb up 163 stairs to the top. There are many dog-friendly trails to be explored on leash as you search for wildlife. Don’t forget to snap a selfie with Old Glory, the park’s old and wise oak tree.

On your way back into town, stop by the Jake Kuredjian County Park which is dedicated to a former Deputy who was killed in the line of duty. Two-legged and four-legged travelers are invited to stroll the walking paths at this picturesque 6-acre park and to enjoy the lush green lawns and planted oak trees.

Come soak in the sun in the quaint and friendly Stevenson Ranch community and enjoy being out and about with your best pawtner!
