Santa Clarita, California, is a large city located in the northern part of Los Angeles County, in the area that was once known as Rancho San Francisco. The main attractions for humans in Santa Clarita are the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park and the California Institute of the Arts. Dogs, however, fancy the other, more pet-friendly attractions this city has to offer.

There are two off-leash dog parks in Santa Clarita with Central Park, part of the Santa Clarita Central Park, being one of them. This new dog park is 1.3 acres in size and has a designated area for small dogs. There are benches, picnic tables, and trees that make the park attractive for the owners as well.

The other off-leash dog park in town, the Canine Country Dog Park, is slightly smaller than the Central Bark Park. This park has a designed a separate area for small dogs as well and offers all the amenities one would expect from a dog park. This park is excellent for timid dogs as the park is more hidden and, therefore, less crowded.

The Vasquez Rocks Trail is a great excursion that can be undertaken with or without a trusty canine sidekick. The trail is relatively easy and only 1 mile long but offers a magnificent view of the San Andreas Fault line and the rock formations formed by earthquakes.
