Just a little over three miles from Sun Valley is North Hollywood in Los Angeles. This neighborhood is packed with paw-friendly restaurants that welcome your furry friends to dine with you at outdoor tables. La Maria is a pupular Columbian restaurant set in a cozy, casual atmosphere. Or, try Mofongos for some authentic Puerto Rican food. Even the Cahuenga General Store has some outdoor tables for pups to enjoy some fresh sandwiches with their owners. In North Hollywood, you’ll also find the Whitnall Off-Leash Dog Park, which has plenty of space for your energetic pup to run, play, and socialize with some new friends.

Hollywood Hills

Just under 12 miles from Sun Valley is Hollywood Hills, one of the most famous neighborhoods in Los Angeles. You simply can’t miss visiting this historic neighborhood, which will even give you and your pup a chance to check out the famous Hollywood sign yourselves! Hop on the Wonder View Trail, which takes you up the mountain for three miles to get an up-close view of the sign and a spectacular view of Los Angeles down below. You can also check it out from the ground at Lake Hollywood Park, somewhat of an unofficial doggie park where dogs and their owners can enjoy some outdoor time in the city.

Studio City

Studio City is almost nine miles from Sun Valley. This Los Angeles neighborhood offers a good atmosphere mix of city and rural vibes. Here, you can feast at some pup-friendly restaurants with outdoor seating that welcomes pooches, like the Mexican restaurant, Cocina Condesa. Or, visit Spice Season for some incredible Asian fusion meals that’ll leave you howling for more. But Studio City also gives you some options for outdoor fun. Visit Wilacre Park, a public park that allows leashed dogs to walk the trails and reach new heights! The Fryman Canyon Loop is a pupular one here, taking you around the incredible Fryman Canyon on a 3-mile trek.

Valley Village

About 6.5 miles from Sun Valley is Valley Village, another neighborhood in Los Angeles. This spot features a unique pawportunity for you and your favorite pooch: you can both visit the Val Surf Board Shop to check out everything this snowboard, skiing, and surf shop has to offer. Your dog can even have a bowl of water while you shop! Valley Village also has plenty of dining opportunities available for you and your dog with a variety of delectable cuisines. District Pub is the pawfect place for all things Americana, while Dog Haus Biergarten is all about the beef, which is raised in completely humane ways.

Northridge

Northridge is another Los Angeles neighborhood that’s a little over 13 miles from Sun Valley. Northridge is the place to go if you’re looking for a fun selection of dog-friendly dining spots. You’ll find everything from casual dining pizza joints, like PizzaRev, to spots that make you feel as though you’ve traveled straight to Argentina, like the Buenos Aires Grill. For a quick, sweet treat, you can head to Tutti Fruitti Frozen Yogurt, or grab some delicious breakfast favorites at Ninong’s Pastries & Café. These and several other restaurants in the neighborhood have outdoor tables that welcome your pooch to join you as you eat.
