“Four legged friends are the best!”
*Woof!* I'm Joshua and I just said 'Hello!' in dog speak. I've been told I'm a good human and often get wet nose kisses in recognition of a job well done. Dogs are simply amazing and I absolutely love them. I appreciate dogs of all sizes and breeds, but big playful pups are my favorite. When caring for your dog, you can rest assured that your fur baby is in the good hands of a trustworthy human who is as loving to your four-legged friend as you are. Your pup is always priority #1!

Dog Walking in Plymouth
Plymouth is a small colonial town nestled in the southeast corner of Litchfield County, and includes the villages of Terryville and Pequabuck. Rich in history, this community dates back to the 18th century. The town first gained notoriety through clock manufacturing. Today, it is a charming place perfect for raising a four legged family member.
It’s no secret that dogs and parks go hand in hand, so treat your pup to a trip to Baldwin Park. She’ll love perusing the perimeter and discovering the smells of this triangular park. After your walk, find a bench or a grassy spot under one of the shade trees and chill out with your furry pal. Bring a snack for you and some water and a treat for her, and enjoy the afternoon together.
If your canine companion is ready
for another outdoor adventure, check out Buttermilk Falls. The trail to the falls is
actually the first section of the 36 mile Mattatuck Trail, and passes by a couple caves and a small pond. Wander
through the pine forest until you come to the magnificent display of plunging tiered
waterfalls and refreshing pools. The largest waterfall is 60 feet high. That’s
woofin’ amazing!

If your pup is a history buff, be sure to walk around the Plymouth Green. Not only was this park once a training ground for Union militia, it was also a stop on the Underground Railroad. The Green is the starting point for the Walking Tour of Plymouth Center. As you tour the city center with your furry pal, you’ll pass 18th century houses, churches, a post office, and shops. Lake Winfield is also in the area. This recreational area is a favorite among Plymouth residents, and it’s easy to see why. There’s a horseshoe pit, bocce court, picnic gazebo, and a one mile walking path. Sounds pawsome!

With amenities like sport courts, a swimming pool, ball fields and miniature golf, you’re sure to find something for the whole family. The Whitestone Cliffs Trail is nearby and is the perfect place to let your furry friend get some exercise. Follow the 1.7 loop trail through the stunning Mattatuck State Forest scenery. After a puptastic workout climbing up the 750 foot summit, your furry hiking buddy will love the view at the top. If you have time, there are a couple side trails that can be explored.

If you have a nature loving pup, be sure to take a trip to Black Rock State Park. This beautiful park is just a short three mile drive away in Watertown. It stretches over 400 acres in the Western Highlands. Your pal’s tail will wag with delight as he wanders through the pine, hemlock, and oak trees. Follow the Mattatuck Trail through Naugatuck Valley, or venture onto one of the side trails and check out Black Rock Lake or Black Rock Pond. Keep in mind dogs must be kept on leash in this park.

Harwinton Conservation and Recreation Area is just 10 miles north in the neighboring town of Harwinton. Leash up your pup and head over for an afternoon full of outdoor fun. Six trails weave in and out of beautiful forested terrain. Since the trails are short, you may need to take a couple laps if you have an energetic pup. Leadmine Creek winds through the parks, so if your pup gets a little overheated, let him dip his paws in the refreshing water. The park also has sport courts, multiuse fields, and a stocked fishing pond. No bones about it, your furry friend will love this park!

If your pooch is itching to get outside, head six miles east to Bristol and pay a visit to the B.A.R.K. Park. Set on a hillside, this off leash dog park is a perfect place for your pup to run and burn off some energy. She can dash up and down the hill with new four legged friends, or just sniff around the grove of trees. Small pups have their own area to play, so they can enjoy the park at their own pace. There are also benches available for pet parents. Be sure to bring some water for your pal, as all that running around will make her thirsty!
