Iverness

Iverness

Iverness, a hop and a skip away, is a must-see location while you’re in the Holder area. In this neighborhood, you’ll find Bark Central Dog Park, a 15-acre, off-leash park for your precious pup to go dog wild while exploring. Separated into two sections for large and small dogs, each section features a filtered swimming pool for your pup to get his paws wet, as well as rolling hills and plenty of trees for shade. Don’t sweat bringing the doggy waste bags -- there are plenty provided throughout the park, as well as scoopers, should you need one.

Crystal River

Crystal River

A definite stop on your doggy to-do list is Crystal River, home of the Florida Manatee Adventure tours. With private tours on the river, as well as customized tours and dolphin tours in addition to the manatee tours, you and your dog are sure to learn lots from your well-versed captain. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but the location does ask that you call ahead of time to ensure that there is room for you on your chosen tour. South Homosassa Springs

South Homosassa Springs

In South Homosassa Springs, you’d be doggone crazy to miss out on Howard’s Flea Market, a perfectly sized location for you to bring your pup and shop around. With all sorts of shopping experiences to have, you’re sure to find something great both for you and your regal Rover. While you’re there, be sure to grab some of the food available from the vendors. With options like homemade fudge and other such items, you really can’t miss out. While Fido can’t munch on your sugary treats, he’ll be sure to enjoy the day at his owner’s side all the same.

SW 81st Place Road

SW 81st Place Road

Next stop, scoot your pooch towards Dunnellon, Florida, right on over to southwest 81st Place Road. Here, you will find perhaps one of the most beautiful locations with primarily man-made features. Rainbow Springs State Park features three such waterfalls, and plenty of shade for you and your pup to enjoy while walking the paths of the park. Perfect on a warm day, Rainbow Springs has scenery that simply can’t be beat. Bring you and your pup plenty of fresh drinking water, as well as some doggy waste bags to pick up after puppy. You’ll want to keep it clean!
Central Homosassa

Central Homosassa

Last but not least by any means, mosey on over to Central Homosassa and enter Citrus County Dog Park. An off-leash dog park where your dog can go wild, it’s perfect for the pup that’s well-socialized. Your dog will need to be able to follow verbal commands, and you’ll need to bring doggy waste bags to clean up after your pup. Although treats and edible toys are not allowed, you’re free to bring puppy’s playthings. Toss around a frisbee, or bring a tuggy rope to challenge your dog with -- you’ll have a ball! A tennis ball, that is.
