I have been an animal lover my whole life! I have also owned cats and dogs since childhood. For the past 10 years I have been babysitting and built connections with those families and their animals. Through this and my own experiences with my animals, I have learned how to properly take care and love them.

I am a bubbly 27 year old woman who loves nature, outdoor and all creatures. I have 5+ years of experience taking care of animals whether they were my own ( I've had 2 dogs, a mini aquarium, a turtle and 2 cats) or they belonged to someone else. I have a very positive spirit a lot of energy. I currently own a cat who hates going out for walks and is no where near affectionate. (Lol) This opportunity feeds my desire to help people , stay active and make furry connections.

Monroe is a small city in Georgia that’s in the middle of two of the most pupular spots in the state: Athens and Atlanta. This quiet area has a lot of history, but the city is also big on economic development and is a great place for businesses to get their start and grow. Monroe has three vet clinics and some dog-friendly hotels and restaurants, and it’s in a convenient location to get to other nearby furtastic areas.
Athens is about 20 miles away from Monroe and has several small parks where leashed dogs are welcome, as well as restaurants where pooches can join you outside. Ben Burton Park is a favorite for dog owners with its quiet walking path and wildlife preserve that make for a relaxing stroll. Dogs are also welcome to play off-leash at the UGA Recreational Sports Complex’s designated dog area!
Atlanta is a bit longer drive at around 45 miles, but it’s also full of furrific stuff for dog lovers. There are several dog photography studios in Downtown Atlanta, and your dog will have a tough time picking from several parks to enjoy right in the heart of the city. Leashed pups can visit Woodruff Park with areas for sports, playgrounds, and an outside shopping plaza.
Monroe’s prime location makes it a pawtastic spot for doggie families!
This central neighborhood of Monroe is a prime spot for pups and their owners to check out. The residential area is made up of some beautiful homes and it’s right by Felker Park and the Stephen Felker Recreational Complex, both of which are great spots for the neighborhood kids to play sports. The neighborhood also includes one of the vet clinics in town! You and your dog can visit one of three dog-friendly restaurants here, like Amici, a casual restaurant that serves up pizza, wings, pasta, subs, and more. There are some outdoor tables available for you and your pooch!
A little over 15 miles from Monroe is the Hard Labor Creek State Park, which is located in Rutledge, GA. For pups and their owners who love the great outdoors, this is the place for you. From dog-friendly camping to picnic areas, this place has a little bit of something for every outdoor adventurer. You and your dog can visit one of several trails that allow dogs on their leashes, from mild hikes to more challenging and lengthy trails. You can even take Spot on a geocaching adventure through the park to find some hidden treasures and get some fun exercise in.
A little under 24 miles from Monroe is the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Athens, GA. Only minutes from the Middle Oconee River, the Georgia Museum of Art, and the University of Georgia Athens campus, Woodland Hills is a prime spot for families to make their homes. The residential area is home to Oconee Forest Park and Memorial Park. Memorial Park, in addition to its playgrounds, children’s educational programs, and hiking trails, has a fenced-in doggie play area where your furry pal can get his exercise in. You can also check out Butt Hutt Barbecue, which offers Southern comfort food and has a few outdoor tables where pups are welcome.
The Five Forks Trickum Rd area of Lawrenceville is about 24 miles from Monroe. Set on the outskirts of central Lawrenceville, this area gives dog owners a balance of commercial and residential, which is pawfect for families who want to be close to parks and stores. The Ronald Reagan Park is one spot you’ll love, featuring a skate park, hiking trail, sporting fields, and more. There’s even a small dog park inside where pups can run off their leashes. Hungry? Head to Johnny’s New York Style Pizza, which has some dog-friendly tables outside so you and Sparky can enjoy lunch or dinner together.
Another pawsome place for families who love the outdoors is Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, GA. It’s only about 15 miles from Monroe, so it’s in a convenient location to visit for just a few hours, but you can also stay for a few days at its dog-friendly camping site. This park allows leashed dogs to join owners in several areas, like playgrounds, several miles of hiking and biking trails, fishing spots, picnic areas, and more. It’s also only a couple of miles from central Winder, which has some pup-friendly hotels and restaurants if you want to stay outside the park.
